How to Recognize a Legitimate Fraud Alert from Guadalupe Bank
Our fraud monitoring system may contact you when it detects suspicious activity on your account. Here's how to tell when it's really us — and when to be skeptical.
How We Contact You
When our fraud monitoring system flags a suspicious transaction, we'll reach out in one of two ways:
- A text message from short code 86975
- An automated phone call from (800) 369-4887
The message will describe the transaction in question and ask you to confirm whether it was you. You can reply or follow the voice prompts to respond.
What a Legitimate Alert Will Never Ask For
A real fraud alert from Guadalupe Bank will never ask for:
- Your full account number
- Your Social Security number
- Your online banking username or password
- Your debit card PIN
If anyone — by text, call, or email — asks for this information while claiming to be from Guadalupe Bank, hang up and call us directly.
When in Doubt, Call Us
If you receive a fraud alert and you're not sure whether it's legitimate, do not respond to the message. Instead, call us directly at (830) 792-1950 during business hours. A real person will pick up and can verify whether we actually tried to reach you.
